El Presidio Gallery September 2nd through the 4th
Written by Chuck Duncan • Photography by Mickey Cochran

Ruidoso, New Mexico’s acclaimed gallery, El Presidio, is hosting their 1st Annual Miniature painting and sculpture show and sale this Labor Day weekend.

Dozens of renowned artists will be represented at this event and their special works will include miniature paintings and miniature sculptures.

A miniature painting is 9X12 or smaller, the sculptures are in scale and all of it represents the
“best by the best”.

Mehl Lawson, one of the "Cowboy Artists Of America" is bringing two sculptures as are both JC Dye and Steven Lee and the paintings are by artists who’s names read like a “Who’s’ Who” in the art world. All of the items are pre-priced and, to purchase one, you simply submit an Intent to Purchase Ballot at the Gallery. If your ballot is drawn Saturday evening then the piece is yours.

The Sale Preview runs from 9am to 6pm Friday, September 2nd where an intent to purchase slip may be deposited. The Sale Preview will run from 9am to 6pm on Saturday, September the 3rd with a sale reception at 6pm including culinary delights and an open bar. The excitement begins with the sale drawings at 7:30pm. Although you do not have to be present to win you are encouraged to stay and enjoy the evening with others who share your love of the arts. After the Labor Day Weekend these pieces will be withdrawn from the sale … so Sunday, September the 4th will be your chance for a “Last Look” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on items still available.

The show can be previewed and additional information found online at www.elpresidiogallery.com starting Wednesday, August 24th.
