Interesting Note: The youngest son of Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth, Michael Hurd became a part-time painter who studied with his mother. He graduated from Stanford University, and his musical talents led to a period of performing with the Kingston Trio. He also spent several years in the real estate business in Chicago and then returned to New Mexico where he oversees the operations of the family ranch in San Patricio, New Mexico.

This promises to be the place to find a perfect gift on your “hard to buy for” list or a great piece for that space in your living room crying out for something special.
In the past few years the creative talents in the Ruidoso region have developed into an impressive artists’ colony rivaling Santa Fe and Taos for the quality, originality, feel and quantity of their works.
"Crossroads" by Michael Hurd
Many area artists enjoy National acclaim and we are fortunate to have them participating in the Treasures of the Sierra Blanca show.
On Saturday November 12 the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts will host a Wine and Chocolate Reception from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. This reception will offer an opportunity for the public and artists to meet and share their love for the Southwest’s incredible creative spirit. Included in the evening will be a cash bar, silent auction and live music.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with the local talent and discover the richness that is Ruidoso and the Sierra Blanca’s.
