Lincoln County is famous for more than the Old West shenanigans that immortalized Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. In fact, Lincoln County is recognized as a Mecca for professional artists in all media. Lincoln County communities such as Carrizozo, San Patricio, Glencoe, Ruidoso, Nogal, Capitan and Hondo appeal to the creative mind. These high desert villages offer inspiration and tranquility creating an environment that encourages the innovative and imaginative. When viewing the extraordinary work that is produced here you sense the spirituality that each of the artists has derived from the area. Mediums such as paint, ceramics, sculpture, glass, photography and more are all utilized to offer up a piece of Lincolns mystery that can only derived from these special works.

As a celebration of these wonderful artists and their galleries the Art Loop was created. This juried event takes you to 20 of the best studios Lincoln County has to offer.
All of the venues are full-time working studios where the artists are encouraged to demonstrate their discipline during the event.
