Alto Artists Studio Tour August 27th & 28th
Written by Chuck Duncan • Photographs contributed by Sharon with AltoArtists.com

Just above the Village of Ruidoso is the Village of Alto. A beautiful community that seems to spring from the base of Mount Sierra Blanca. The area is blessed with scenic wonders in all directions and it is therefore, no wonder, a setting where truly talented artists have been drawn together.

For the second summer now 36 area Artists will open their studios to the public for the Alto Artist’s Tour. This self-guided tour allows for the viewing and purchasing of New Mexico’s finest works. One spectacular show after another awaits those with a love for the unique and beautiful.

These artistic works are as wondrous as the medias are diverse. Wood and Bronze sculptures, Painted Tile, Oil Paintings, Pastels, Watercolors, Fine Furniture, Jewelry, Weavings, Masks, Dolls, Glass, Mixed Media, Clay and much more will be displayed.

This is an interpretive event as the artists are encouraged to demonstrate their techniques and talents. For a sneak preview of the works you can expect to see, drop into the Ruidoso Village Hall during August as each of the Alto Tour Artists have donated a piece for the “Art in Public Places” showing.

You can even meet the Artists on August 5th from 5 to 7pm at the Village Library and Village hall. There’s so much more that you’re encouraged to visit the Alto Artist web site for full details.
